While herbicide resistance in annual ryegrass is increasing in Western Australia, the important pre-emergent herbicides trifluralin and atrazine, and knockdown herbicides glyphosate and paraquat still provide good weed control in most cases, new survey results reveal... AHRI senior researcher Mechelle Owen said that, overall, the survey revealed a big increase in the level of resistance in annual ryegrass to Group A and B selective herbicides such as sulfometuron and diclofop... "The 2010 survey shows that 98 per cent of annual ryegrass populations contain weeds resistant to the Group B herbicide sulfometuron, and most populations have a high number of plants surviving," she said...
