The maps can be used to assess how much variation is needed for PA to be profitable and identify areas of paddocks responsive to inputs... While the results will go some way towards informing the debate about the profitability of PA, it illustrates that the use of, and benefits from, PA technology vary from farm to farm - in line with farmer preferences and circumstances... A new approach to thinking about management zones as responsive/unresponsive to inputs, rather than the traditional approach of static zones based on average yield performance...
