The objective of this research and technology transfer project is to reduce the impact of disease in cereal and pulse crops in south-eastern Australia increasing the productivity and sustainability of field crop production... The Department of Primary Industries, Victoria, is a significant provider of grains plant pathology research and extension in south-eastern Australia and was asked by GRDC to develop a 5 year strategy, which identified priority research and extension objectives, to help define GRDC and DPI's future investment in this area... Diseases of field crops can reduce grain yield by more than 50% and affect grain quality...
