soil type difference

Catalogue: GRDC Final Reports
We applied the tools to two case study catchments in Western Australia (WA) and showed that by taking account of soil type and seasonal influences on crop yield potential, gains of $2-40/ha are possible... We used simulated estimates of wheat yield potential generated by the decision making tool, APSIM, from the past 30 seasons at locations in the Western Australian (WA) central wheat belt (Kellerberrin) and northern agricultural region (Mingenew), run over a wide range of soil types from each district... The author believes there would be merit in assessing the gains in better use of these technologies versus the issue covered in this project - better matching of nutrients to yield goals...
