Landscapes in the Darling Downs, QLD, were mapped and characterized for their pest suppressive potential - eg. the ability for localized reduction in pest populations in grains due to the amount and location of Bt cotton in the landscape... Once mapped, 16 crops (8 sorghum and 8 cotton) in each of three landscapes were selected for fortnightly sampling of Helicoverpa moths and eggs... Data analysis is on-going, but to date results support those found in an earlier study, which is that there are regional differences in Helicoverpa pressure and this is most likely due to different composition of crops across a landscape...
