A separate survey of Western Australian farmers by the ABS (2008) revealed that, apart from farmers in the northern agricultural region who strongly believed their climate was changing, just over half the respondents thought that the climate affecting their farms was changing and a slightly lesser proportion felt that this changing climate was affecting their farm business... To enlarge our understanding of how climate and price variability affect farm business performance, actual farm data from the north-eastern agricultural region have been examined... Most farms surveyed were wheat dominant and a more diverse set of production systems, or an alternative approach would need to be considered to gain a greater insight into the role diversity plays in these production systems...
