Most of the weed seedbank remains on the soil surface where exposure to light could have an important in uence on the germination behaviour of B. diandrus and B. rigidus... Across the experiment, germinability of B. rigidus from the in-crop habitat was found to be slow and incomplete, and populations of B. rigidus collected from Minlaton and Warooka on the YP showed no germination at all in light/dark conditions at any of the tested time-points (Fig. 1)... In summary, strong differences in light/dark germinability were observed in the collected populations of B. diandrus and B. rigidus right through until the end of the growing season (end of September), with B. rigidus germination never exceeding 40%...
