Researchers have detected a new leaf rust pathotype on samples of the Naparoo wheat variety collected in northern New South Wales in early August... The research highlighted that Northern Region (NR) wheat and barley varieties differed considerably in their sensitivity to these herbicides... Whilst our research has shown that herbicide tolerance differs among the barley and wheat cultivars grown in the Northern Region, many cultivars are very tolerant to a range of herbicides, with no significant yield losses even at double rates... Some cultivars have only a narrow level of tolerance to many herbicides, suffering significant yield losses at a double rate but not at a recommended rate...
