The Australian Government has provided the Queensland Government with funding of $2.2 million to run this three year project (July 2014 - June 2017) as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Regional Economic Development program (MDBREDP) , with in-kind support from Queensland Government agencies... The MDBREDP is designed to fund projects to stimulate economic activity in areas of the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin that have been affected by water reductions under the Murray-Darling Basin Plan ... As part of the project, the Queensland Government has appointed two project staff based in Goondiwindi working closely with collaborating irrigators to benchmark existing water productivity, undertake on farm demonstration sites of improved irrigation practices/technologies and further refine and promote WaterSCHED2 - a free online irrigation scheduling tool...
