Biserrula has emerged out of the CRC for Legumes in Mediterranean Agriculture (CLIMA) and the National Annual Pasture Legume Improvement Program (NAPLIP) as an exciting prospect for wheatbelt pastures in southern and western Australia... Biserrula appears to have some protection against false breaks of season (germinating rains followed by drought) as seeds soften in the late summer-autumn period... Biserrula is a high-quality forage, can set seed under high grazing pressure and has an acid-tolerant rhizobia which can persist on soils with a pH as low as 4.0...
