When using 2,4-D or MCPA in a mixture to control weeds, researchers urge the use of full label rates for all chemicals in the mixture, combined with other weed management tactics throughout the year to delay resistance evolution... Weed specialists are reminding growers who use 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) or 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (MCPA) in tank mixes to use full label rates for all herbicides utilised and to also employ non-herbicide weed management tactics to delay the evolution of weeds resistance... If using a tank mix of herbicide containing 2,4-D or MCPA use full label rates to slow resistance evolution "Herbicide resistance testing can be arranged through an agronomist or local farm supply agent," he says...
