The outcome of the project is a more profitable and secure Australian sorghum industry... Despite the great improvements in the yield potential, insect resistance and drought resistance of Australian sorghum varieties, there is still opportunity for improvement in each of these traits... By breeding with adapted types these improvements are "packaged" in lines that the seed companies can use to produce better hybrids for Australian farmers...
