Research delves into growing issue of insecticide resistance Insecticide resistance in several broad-acre agricultural pests across southern Australia is being investigated through a research project supported by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC)... For example, insecticide resistance in redlegged earth mites to synthetic pyrethroids was first discovered in Australia only a few years ago on a property in Western Australia, and since then this resistance has spread across 15 different properties, spanning a distance of 450.. Dr Umina said that to develop management strategies aimed at limiting the widespread development of resistance in these pests, a better understanding of the spread and frequency of insecticide resistance throughout cropping and pasture regions across southern Australia was needed...

The aim of the study was to determine whether the introduction of starch into the diet of lambs as an integral part of the weaning process would provide benefits to the rumen function of the lamb in order to improve feed conversion efficiency... Phone: Fax: Email: Objectives +61 8 85958048 N/A james@chowilla.com.au The focus of this report is to identify opportunities to introduce starch into the diet of lambs at weaning to improve the feed conversion efficiency and improve the lifetime production of the subject animals... The study showed that starch can improve the rumen function of lambs allowing for better feed conversion efficiency and resulting in better performance of the lambs...

Given the scenario, it is little wonder that in anticipation of a 1-2t/ha crop of cooking/sprouting beans valued at $600-$700/t requiring maybe one insect spray, that some producers were disappointed with what the mungbeans actually returned (processing grade worth about $315 net-to-grower)... " Date: 18.01.2016 2016 starts with summer moisture management.. Until this year, Matthew cropped 95 per cent of his family's property and mated up to 1000 ewes, but he is selling the sheep so all resources can be focused on cropping and the implementation of an opportunistic fallow... While the sheep produced a reasonable return, Matthew says they compromised his crop agronomy and the money earned from the sheep did not warrant the time he needed to spend on them...
