Twin-sowing of pasture and cereal crops can boost profits by up to 24 per cent in mixed farming enterprises, according to new research supported by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC)... "Twin-sowing lowers the costs of establishing legume pastures without interfering with crop sowing," Prof Kingwell says... Prof Kingwell said the main findings were that twin-sowing boosts whole-farm profit while decreasing the area of farm optimally devoted to pasture...

Six first-year university students with an interest in the grains industry were among 13 young people recently awarded 2015 Horizon Scholarships...
