Dr Blanchard, who is also involved in GRDC's skills and capacity building investment theme at a national level, says the organisation is committed to supporting current and potential future grains industry experts through a large portfolio of awards, scholarships, sponsorships and activities... The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) will change its focus in barley crop investment, giving the commercial sector access to important genetic material developed by the outgoing southern barley breeding program, to enable the best possible advancements in variety development... An independent economic analysis of the GRDC's investment in no-till farming research has found that the corporation's $4 million investment has returned $141 million in benefits to the grains industry - a benefit/cost ratio of 36 to one... The no-till projects raised awareness of no-till opportunities and benefits and provided greater confidence to those willing to undertake change."..
