Ground cover is estimated by looking at a crop in several places around a paddock at an angle of 45 through the hole created by putting the tip of your index finger and thumb together and estimating the percentage of the hole covered by crop, not soil... Plant height measured on 6/2/01 after each crop was: after wheat: 22 cm after canola: 18 cm after mustard: 16 cm..
