The project reached its specified goal of increasing pulse choices in southern Australian farming systems and reducing losses caused by disease during production by the adoption of appropriate management practices and identification of suitable varieties for different production zones... The field evaluation of a range of foliar fungicide regimes for the management of ascochyta blight of chickpea and ascochyta blight of lentil enabled the most appropriate and economic disease management strategies to be identified for advanced breeding lines... A range of current commercial lentil and chickpea lines are included as a comparison to the stage 3 advanced breeding lines being evaluated for response to pathogen infection...
