Double Knock This involves an initial treatment with Glyphosate + hormone, followed 10 days later by an application of Paraquat (Gramoxone )... 14 day interval is preferable to 7, if 10 days can't be achieved, as this allows adequate time for the hormone to work within the plant, as well as providing an opportunity to pick up subsequent germinations of weeds 2... Initial chemical treatments were applied and sheep were allowed to graze on the site (around 15 DSE/ha), further treatments were applied post-grazing, including a follow up application of Gramoxone on part of the initial chemical treatments...

Northern region Grains Research Updates coordinator John Cameron reflects on the vast changes that researchers and growers have implemented over the past two decades, and the one problem that just will not go away - weeds.. No-till has become crucial to northern grains production but faces a major weed-control challenge... In the short term, the no-till system will be defended by tactics such as pre-emergent herbicides, double knock using paraquat, and the use of tillage when weeds cannot be or are uneconomical to control using herbicides...
