Frost remains hot research priority for grains industry.. Costing the national grains industry more than an estimated $360 million on average each year, frost remains a funding priority for the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) which is about to embark on new frost-related R,D&E investments, in addition to an existing stable of frost research projects... "It is important that GRDC also encourages and funds significant scientific effort in the area of genetics-based research, because that is where the most gains in combating frost are likely to be made."..

CQ growers applauded for R&D adoption.. Numerous growers expressed their appreciation of the GRDC-funded research into new pulse crop varieties and particularly the endeavours of Col Douglas from the Queensland Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and Dr Kristy Hobson from the NSW Department of Primary Industries, Tamworth in developing pulse varieties better suited to the Central Queensland environment...
