The objectives of the study were to determine the extent of trifluralin resistance, the risk factors resulting in trifluralin resistance and examine alternatives to trifluralin for control of annual ryegrass in wheat... Trifluralin # is widely used in no-till farming systems for the control of annual ryegrass... The simulations suggest that no-till use of trifluralin increases the risk of resistance by up to three years due to greater control of the annual ryegrass population by the herbicide...

Conducted by Independent Consultants Australia Network (ICAN) and sponsored by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), the webinars will focus on a different topic each week: managing fleabane in zero-till farming systems, spray application in summer fallows, and understanding stubble and soil binding of pre-emergent herbicides used for ryegrass control in winter crops... ICAN's Mark Congreve says advisers can simply use their laptop or personal computer to link into each 30 minute presentation from industry experts in their field, after which webinar participants can ask the presenters questions...
