A Canadian cropping adviser will be in Corowa next month to speak with local grain growers about the potential for advancing their farming systems through innovations in agronomy... Frost is a topic to be further explored by Tim March from the University of Adelaide and Dale Grey from the Victorian Department of Environment and Primary Industries, who, along with Dr Hunt, will look at frost tolerance ratings for barley and wheat varieties, impact of time of sowing and where the answers to reducing the risk of frost damage are likely to come from... Pulse and canola diseases will be detailed by Kurt Lindbeck of NSW DPI, Bayer's Wes Amor will outline fungicide trial results, while Chris Preston from the University of Adelaide will provide advice about maintaining the efficacy and longevity of pre-emergent herbicides...

International spray expert to address Corowa grains forum An international agricultural spraying expert will address southern New South Wales and northeast Victorian grain growers next month when they converge on Corowa to explore the options available to them as they adapt to changing market, environmental and agronomic conditions... The GRDC and Update organisers have worked closely with local farming systems group Riverine Plains Inc to select the topics of most relevance to growers in this region and to source the industry authorities to address these issues," Mr Shannon said...
