Four students at Victoria's Longerenong College are on course for a career in the grains industry, thanks to a helping hand from the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC)... "The grains industry is a dynamic and progressive sector for young people to be involved in so the GRDC is allocating funds to help guide and support tertiary students across Australia as they strive to become the next generation of agronomists, growers and grains industry personnel," said Mr Pengilley, who recently met with the scholarship recipients when the GRDC Board visited Longerenong College as part of a tour of western Victoria... New initiative to foster grains industry leadership (Bendigo).. GRDC Program Manager Capacity Building, Kathleen Allan, says the new Resilient Grain Leaders initiative has been established by the GRDC to "help ensure that the Australian grains industry attracts and retains the right people with the skills and capabilities to contribute to the long term sustainability of the industry"... Ms Allan said that to be eligible to participate in the workshop, applicants must be working and engaged in the grains industry, have a long-term vision for the grains industry and be willing to commit to activities before, during and after the workshop...
