BROME GRASS CONTROL SUPPORT: Grain growers challenged with the task of controlling the problematic brome grass are being provided with a new resource to support their weed management strategies... GRDC Southern Regional Panel chair David Shannon says brome grass competing early in wheat at a density of 100 plants per square metre can reduce yields by as much as 30 to 50 per cent. ".. Speaking at the NSW DPI Breeza Research Station while on tour with the GRDC northern panel recently, Mr Clark says GRDC's vigorous commitment to NVT is matched by Australia's breeding companies which run trials at 11 sites...
