The crops should be well nodulated and highyielding and the residual nitrogen benefits should be effectively captured by the following crop or pasture... Research by Mike Hughes, NSW DPI Grafton, and colleagues during the 1980s established that a 2.6 t/ha crop fixed about 265 kg N/ha (Hughes and Herridge 1989)... Bug thresholds for edible soybeans are considerably lower than for crushing beans and range from 0.33-0.6/m 2depending on crop size* (no of seeds per plant), the threshold being higher in larger crops...
