A series of projects were undertaken to develop the potential of lupins as a feed grain for the aquaculture sector and to facilitate the adoption of lupins by this feed sector... The results of the work showed that inclusion of lupin kernel meals increased the rate of gut transit of the feed compared to the effects induced by the inclusion of soybean meal or a lupin protein concentrate... A total of eight products from CBH-Group and Weston Technologies were evaluated over a two-year period...

Wheat exports to South-East Asia have doubled in the past five years and new processing techniques being developed in Malaysia could help oilseeds and lupins follow the same trajectory.. South-East Asia is a well-established and expanding market for Australian wheat growers, but for Malaysia's Soon Soon Group of companies there is also "tremendous potential" for Australian canola, soybeans and lupins in human foods and animal feeds... Buyers say the greatest opportunity for Australia lies in producing a wheat that performs favourably against US and Canadian varieties in the bread sector, which is the fastest-growing market sector in South-East Asia...

In summary, 20 trials have now recently been undertaken across a number of seasons and locations in NSW. None of them have demonstrated S responses in yield or oil %. This does not exclude deficiency and yield penalties from occurring but does highlight that the frequency and the likelihood is not high... In summary, using Yield Prophet as a way of increasing soil water knowledge is more difficult to trial than probes... In summary, the growth in the use of probes to understand soil water is easily explained using the framework above...

Our own evaluation shows that certain varieties of Australian soybeans can perform well in soy milk and tofu... The results showed that there are no significant differences (p > 0.2) in BWG, FCR and livability for broilers fed the lupin meal diets at 5 per cent, 10 per cent and 15 per cent inclusion rates when compared to the control diet using soybean meal... Our research has shown that certain Australian soybean varieties can perform well for soymilk and tofu...
