The project was undertaken to build on the outcomes achieved through the development of the National Grains Industry Biosecurity Plan and ensure that the level of biosecurity preparedness of the Australian grains industry is raised... In the project, the priority areas addressed included: the development of a National Grains Surveillance Plan; the development of pest-specific contingency plans for high priority threats to the industry; and raising biosecurity awareness in the grains industry... The development of the National Grains Surveillance Plan identified mechanisms to assist with early detection of key pest threats and maintain market access for Australian grains...
