Experiments showed that if seedlings (e.g. serradella) are allowed to grow for 18 days before being inoculated with rhizobia, the time it took for nodulation to occur was significantly reduced from 12 to 6 days... At the culmination of this project, no further research was necessary as the inoculant manufacturers were satisfied with the modified time it took to release results when aged seedlings were used in the MPN estimates... One of the outcomes of this paper was to set guidelines and establish a management committee to guide the process of ALIRU's transition into its new role...
