Speaking at a recent Albany Port Zone RCSN meeting at Frankland River in WA's southern region, Ms Micic said the study was looking at slug emergence, control options for small conical snails, and new technologies targeting slugs and snails... "The information gained will feed into a model that aims to improve the predictability of slug movements, so that growers can make better baiting decisions," Ms Micic said... Yield losses in cereal crops appear to be more prevalent in dry conditions, when slugs cause damage early in the growing season, impairing plant growth and making it difficult for plants to outgrow damage," she said...
