Wheat curl mite (WCM) is a vector of wheat streak mosaic virus and a new website has been established to help growers better understand this pest Growers in areas prone to wheat streak mosaic virus (WSMV) are being encouraged to use the website as a one-stop-shop for information on the pest and to help researchers with tracking outbreaks... Launched earlier this year and funded by the GRDC, the website was created by the Centre for Environmental Stress and Adaption Research (CESAR) as an online repository for facts and management guidelines concerning WSMV and its vector, the wheat curl mite... Wheat curl mites colonise the youngest tissue of a wheat plant and acquire WSMV when feeding on infected plants, and then carry it to other plants...
