x Lathyrus sativus tolerates a wide range of herbicides at sowing - including cyanazine, diuron, metribuzin and imazethapyr... Crop Updates is a partnership between the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia and the Grains Research & Development Corporation 105.. Lightning APersian clover was sensitive to most herbicides options evaluated in this trial...

KEYMESSAGES While resistance in annual ryegrass is common throughout the wheatbelt, resistance to some herbicides like glyphosate or paraquat/diquat is still rare in WA... Safeguard ryegrass could be used to increase the density of ryegrass in the following year, as it is susceptible to glyphosate (and resistant to ARGT)... Most of the pollen was produced by the resistant plants in the vineyard, and there was a very high chance of susceptible plants cross-pollinating to resistant plants...
Mention of a trade name or company in this publication does not imply endorsement of any product or company by the Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia... Overall, yields were generally greater for those plots with effective control of weeds and lower weed biomass at anthesis (Tables 1 and 2)... In summary, metribuzin shows some promise for use pre-emergent in lupins but is not currently registered at this timing...
Ross Kingwell and Roger Lawes.. The equity farms could absorb the decline caused by the droughts... Have production systems and access to knowledge that allows them to take advantage of favourable growing seasons then their recovery from drought is facilitated...
Thanks must go to everyone who has submitted papers and presented at the 2004 Agribusiness Crop Updates... There was little graminaceous plant material available on which aphids could survive, so none were recorded in the wheat blocks at either site until the end of August, by which time most plants had reached GS 41-47 (booting)... In order to provide faster data transmission between the web server and the user, graphical presentations (e.g. bar charts) are presented to the user if and only if the user requests...
Yield performance of potential new Lupin varieties confirmed the yield gain required to justify their release.. WALAN2333 provides a significant yield gain where yields are above 1 t/ha while WALAN2385 shows significant yield improvements in all yield scenarios... The graph demonstrates a significant yield improvement on TanjilA...

The introduction of new technology such as smartphones and tablet computers is significantly increasing growers' ability to access data in real time as well as undertake business transactions... The benefits of and shift towards conducting business online can be seen in other industries; Agribusiness is already moving in this direction - it is only a matter of time before more agribusiness takes place online... Although the sample is relatively small and those surveyed already considered "technologically progressive" (due to their membership with an online price reporting service), the res...

Long fallow increases soil water at sowing which in turn increases yield on good water holding capacity soils, particularly when the growing season rainfall is low (<210mm) and the summer rainfall was low (<100mm).. On good water holding capacity soils, 22-29% of years following long fallow had an average yield increase of 0.46-0.59 t/ha at Dalwallinu, 39-47% of years had an average yield increase of 0.49-0.82 t/ha in Perenjori while at Merredin 37-60% of years had a 0.51-0.76 t/ha yield increase... From other modelling work the increase stored mineral N from a fallow is 40-70 kg N/ha (Far...

" Agribusiness Crop Updates 2010 Herbicide control of slender iceplant Lorinda Hunt, Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia, Three Springs, Andrew Blake, Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia, Geraldton Research conducted by L Hunt... In the short stubble-no chaff plots (where stubble biomass was lowest), water rate did not have a large impact on annual ryegrass control, although Sakura was more effective at the high water rate... In the short stubble-chaff plots, all herbicides were more effective at the high water rate...
A submission has been made to the APVMA for registration of Roundup Attack with IQ inside used pre-harvest in canola - a new use pattern for Australian canola growers... A submission was made to the APVMA in June 2012 to register Roundup Attack with IQ inside for pre-harvest use in canola... We are hoping to provide growers with the flexibility to control weed seed set in canola with robust rates of Roundup Attack with IQ inside...
